Thrux won't start, help pls
Its an 05 Thruxton. The battery is less than 2 months old, and I have it plugged into the Battery Tender Jr when i park it. I drove it around for 4 hrs a couple days ago and no problems
I turn the key into the starting position. The electrical kill switch is in the right position. The Bike is in neutral, turns signals work, gauge lights are bright, and that lil bulb in the headlight is on BUT the main headlight bulb is not on.
I press in the starter and I don't hear hear the regular sound of it trying to start. It just makes one click when I push it in. The lights dont dim and the bike just doesnt start. the engine doesnt turn.
Can someone pleeeease help
thx
Danny

As your headlamp is not working, check fuse number 9, a 10 amp one. There should be some spares in the fuse box. The starter and main light circuits are related. Failure of fuse 9 stops the bike starting.
If this is OK the starter relay, clutch switch and the diode pack are the next suspects.

Great...
I have to admit to having found this out by pure chance. I hate my bike not having the means of turning off the headlight, so I figured that next time I work on it I'll pull the fuse and save some battery. Having done that, I find the bloody thing doesn't start. I still don't quite understand why.

Dont understand Why? Electricaly: the power to the start relay coil comes directly from fuse 9
Or : because the saftey nazis think we will be safer with our lights on LOL If we all rode yellow goldwings some drivers still couldn't see us.

The more I lurk around these threads and read and learn, the more I'm thinkin' Forchetto would be great to have as a next-door neighbor.

Well, I always knew I'd never play Trivial Pursuit against you, but how did you get all those cats to look in the same direction at once? Are you the Phantom Cat Wrangler?
