first off all...throw off that crappy zard 2-1 exhaust...itīs nothing through the whole rev range
you can go for tpusa cams or go get 2x inletcam from 790 bonneville america...have no experience with tpusa cams...but the 2x 790 inletcombo works fine, too
kind regards
twinfan

The 813 cams from TPUSA work great for me. They really come on at around 4000RPM. Most of your riding will be near that. However, I don't know how they will work on the 270 engine.I too have the 904 set up on my bonnie and it's a kick. Your gonna really like it. I've got the TPUSA kit with the 11 1/2 to 1 HCP. With the Tuneboy, you can really dial her in. There are people here who know more than I do, but I think you'll get more torque if you get rid of the 2 into 1 exhaust.
Let us know how you go on the cams.

Steveboy, is your bike still with Bob Farnham?
Did he not recommend cams as part of his package?
Looking forward to seeing the results when its done!
As Twinfan says, going 790 cams are an option.
Probably not the best out there, but good results nevertheless and far better than stock.
And probably the cheapest/most convenient of all the options.
As he also says, you could dabble with fitting a 790 inlet cam in place of the exhaust cam, and also retiming them.
But now thats getting complicated! But very do-able.
I did, with some good peak hp results.
The Zard high level 2:1 headers have been found to be very restrictive when it comes to chasing hp.
As have the stock Scram headers.
Twinfan is again very knowledgable in all this so I'll leave it to him to detail.
V.

cams etc
Hi ventura,Yes the bike is still with Bob Farnham and he recommended the thunderbike cams which were ordered and fitted only to find they made a horrible noise (technical term !) on start up,so cams removed and thunderbike admitted having a bad batch of the cams,so the up shot is either to wait for another set of the thunderbike cams or go for the bonneville america 790 cams. What is a man to do,I really dont mind the waiting I just want the bike to go really well,Im looking for 80 rwhp with the mods as planned,I was thinking of asking pieman to bore the injectors out as well to see what difference that made, any ideas anybody ?What exhaust would you recommend instead of the zard ?I have a 2 into 1 arrow full system on my T100 would that make better power ?By the way you are right about Twinfan he sent me an email with loads of good info,I still need to reply to him,but cheers twinfan youre a gent.
Thanks for the info you two its well appreciated for sure.

I doubt if I would want to try the TB cams again. I don't see how they could have a bad batch if they go through QC. The tolerances are way too close not to be inspected. Any problem causing extra noise should have been caught. I'ld really be leary of them. Did he say where the problem was? With noise, could it have been the gear teeth? Really want to see the end results and good luck.
