Fork Brace question

I'm always interested in more stability, safety first you know. Anyway, I was looking at these for braces:

Does the NB one split in the middle for easy installation too, or do you have to slide the forks through the holes one at a time?

Do these things really work?

There's also the Norman hyde brace at about $200+ p&p.

None of the three need the forks removing for fitting and none of them fit the 09 Mag wheel Bonnies or SE's.

Apart from looks I doubt you'll feel much difference, the bike already has a sort of brace which doubles up as the mudguard bracket.

I just installed gaiters and was surprised how sturdy that bracket is! Maybe it does flex some going down the road, but it can't be much.

The stock bracket is sturdy? I guess I figured it wasn't doing much more than holding the fender on... Interesting...

It's 1/4" stamped steel. It's plenty strong...

If you haven't already done so, installing progressive springs in the front will provide a much more noticeable improvement than the fork brace. Plus it is half the price of the braces. You have to remove the forks to do it, but I found the job is not really that hard. The Haynes manual explains it very clearly.

I am taking it into the dealer in a few weeks to get the fork oil changed (I would do it myself, but I'd have to go to the dealer to get rid of the old oil anyway). I figured i'd ask about them installing progressive springs for me at the same time.
