Can you remove the stock fork brace when you replace it with any of the brace manufacturers out there? I am thinking of the Norman Hyde brace from New Bonneville. I run with no front fender and can't stand the way the stock brace looks. As usual, thanks for the help. Much appreciated!
The stock fork brace of which you speak does double duty as the frt fender bracket so it isn't very pretty without the fender to hide it. It's pretty stiff for a fender bracket but nowhere as stiff as the NH fork brace. You just unbolt it, should be 2 bolts per side, sometimes the tire gets in the way. You don't need it if you have a fork brace, some guys go without either although I'm not sure that I would.
Happy New Year.
Whats the advantage or otherwise of adding an after market fork brace? I'm going to leave the front fender etc as is, so would it just be a look good bit?
