My reason for this is if the bolt is too long and there is a carbon build up on the exposed threads and due to some emission/roadworth inspection (god help us) I have to replace the original tubes, then I may damage the thread in the head when I remove the blanking bolts. Vice-versa if the bolts are too short.
The other reason is they dont cost much and I wanted to keep it as simple and easy as possible and know I could finish the job once I started it.

I'm sure any "kit" bolts you will buy are not
exactly the right length either. Just get the bolts at the hardware store for 2 or 3 dollars, they'll work just fine.
