Swapping engine cases

I am toying with the idea of putting the chrome cases from my '04 865 T100 on my new '09 bonnie black and vice versa with the black cases to the T100 ( soon to be street tracker project)
Anyone know if the cases have changed over the years. My dealer said the 2 r/h smaller ones should be ok but not sure about the inside of the l/h large one.So has anyone done anything similar and encountered any problems.
Thanks - Adrian.

you're talking about the engine side covers, not the cases. Cases = Engine Block

The shifter shaft on the SE '09 is larger then the '04 865 T100. Check the size of your shafts and see if they are the same size. I would guess they are not the same size.
