Straighten rear brake pedel?

Was moving the Thruxton in the garage & it got away from me. No real damage other that small scrape on muffler & slightly bent rear brake pedel. Can these be bent back straight? All suggestions are welcome.
thanks

They are cast item, and the metal is not especially ductile, but if it is not bent far you might be OK. Look at it this way - you have nothing to lose by trying. If it works - great, if not you're no worse off than otherwise. you still need a new brake lever. If you can heat it up first that may help. Take it off the bike to do it.

Now - I posted all this thinking of Bonnevilles, but I think the thrux uses a cast brake lever too. Someone confirm / correct me here?

Maybe check ebay and classifieds for an unwanted one, sometimes people put rearsets on and sell on their original ones.

Brake Pedal Replacement

I'm not sure about bending it back. I just dropped my America at about 5mph due to a cutoff issue. The rear brake pedal is bent more than 45 degrees. If I could bend it back I would likely damage it. The metal appears to be cast and I am sure I would ruin the chrome finish as well. I highly doubt I could bend it without beating it so I ordered a new one from Bike Bandit. The brake lever assembly (lever, rubber pad and a couple small items) was approx. $72 plus shipping.

Good news is this is the only part that got damaged beyond a very minor scrape on the front corner of the fender, a light scratch on the right turn signal lens and a light scratch on the side of the right mirror. My Triumph saddlebags protected the rear and exhaust and were undamaged....go leather!

Not too bad to replace, but a pretty big cost for your bike that just fell over moving it. Good luck!

Well, I dropped my scram a couple of years ago and bent mine. I took 2 large cresent ( adjustable open end wrenchs ) & straighten the lever out while still on the bike. The flat sides of the wrench won't damage the lever. I used one to hold the lever as backup & one wrench for pressure to bend it back - no heat. I hope that makes sense but, if your lever is bent to far it might crack look for fatigue cracks & if they appear replace the lever can't hurt to try.

thanks Varna2Win for the idea of using the wrenches - I happen to have two very large ones -- but I think I will remove the lever & use some heat --

Don't heat it. The aluminium will become brittle and snap.
