Distinct smell!!

I have noticed lately after riding, that there is a pretty distinct smell coming off the right side of the bike. I have looked all around and don’t see any smoke or signs of anything burning, but it is strong enough that I notice it as soon as I get off the bike. Especially when I pull up in the garage where there is no wind to blow the scent away. The bike runs fine and the only thing I have done different is I have switched chain lube. I started using the DuPont Teflon multi-use spray. Could it be the lube that is heating up and causing the odor? Has anyone else used this lube and noticed a scent?

I've noticed a strong smell off the back of the bike after fast rides from time to time. A shower and change of undies seems to clear it up.

It could be chain lube flinging off and burning on the muffler?

LOL... I'd do something about the handling if I were you...

I noticed the same thing when I switched to the Dupont stuff. It smelled like coconuts and ass. Now when I lube the chain I wipe off the excess lube with a paper towel before riding. It seems to decrease the smell quite a bit. I think it was just like Slinky said, excess lube burning on the muffler.

mmmmm,...coconut and ass. Just what I love to smell when I get off my bike!! Not sure if that is the same discription I would give it, but it definitly is unpleasant.

Thanks for the feed back all. I'll try cleaning up after lubing and see if that helps.
