Bridgestone S11 Spitfire Tires

I spooned on a pair of the above tires on my beloved '03 T100 this weekend (my HarborFreight tire mounting outfit is the stuff). They were super affordable ($135 for the pair from Tires Unlimited) and have a reputation for long life (10K to 12K, if the reviews are to be believed). I couldn't resist giving them a try. So far they are an improvement over the Metzler LaserTecs they replaced. They have a more triangular profile and turn in much nicer. The grip could be better, but is adequate for the 70% sport touring pace I prefer. I had to go with a 130/90-17 rather than the 130/80-17 that comes as stock. Along with the Thruxton length Ikon shocks my bike sports, the steering is much quicker (the aforementioned profile difference helps too). I'll report more later, but for now this seems like a good deal on a touring-oriented hoop if you don't mind an oldish bias-ply design. Besides, the word "Spitfire" just works on a British motorcycle...

I have used these in the past on other bikes and always had good luck and long life from them. They ride nice also.

I put spitfires on a KZ650, they seem like pretty reasonable tyres to me.

$135.00?

Is that correct $135.00 for pair? That's a good deal!

That is good, those tires are reasoanbly priced. Double check www.denniskirk.com though because they often have really good tire prices. I buy all my tires from there.

I just checked the website. The current price for the pair is $143 at Tires Unlimited...
http://www.tiresunlimited.com/ALL%20...itfire_s11.htm
I also checked Dennis Kirk. The price was lower at $126 for the pair...

Bridgestones oldest cruiser tire. They have been around since the early 80's. I'd personally look for something with newer tech in them.

I have them on my CB750 . The work great for that bike but IMO might look a little ghey on a Bonnie . However will work well. If they can keep my CB on the twisties they can certainly keep a Bonnie .
