Vetter Fairings

I would like to experiment with mounting a Vetter Series 1500 Phantom fairing (see attached photo) to my 2007 Bonneville. It is my understanding that this fairing is no longer manufactured and I have been unable to find a modern fairing with a similar style. If anyone is familiar with this fairing then I would like to hear your thoughts about if this is possible. In addition, if anyone knows someone with a used fairing they would like to sell then please let me know.

Thanks!

Vetter

Sorry I don't have the answer but I did enjoy a Vetter Quicksilver back in the late 70's. Ebay? if you want to build-re-build something.

Look at Hannigan fairings (Arkansas) to see if they meet your needs. I traded a few emails and the fellow there and he said they would need the bike for a week or so to fabricate the mounts. (bonnie frame mounts are not currently stocked) More rounded shape than Vetter but still frame mounted. Lowers etc. $$$$

I saw a pic a while back where a guy put a Vetter Windjammer on a Bonnie. It looked really good, in a touring/utilitarian way. I certainly wouldn't put on on my bike, but if I had a few more Bonnies I would think about it!

Get one, and make it work!

I wrote him and asked about his seat . It's a day long saddle but only has the front half of it as were the back is suppose to be it's all for carrying more of his stuff for the trip .

Pretty impressive looking when he has it all loaded up ain't it ?

The Airtech Triumph reproduction fairings are similar in design to the Vetter fairing in your original picture. Possibly more important, they are reproductions of race fairings that were actually used on Triumphs. Look here:

http://www.airtech-streamlining.com/...iringsfull.htm

Note that Airtech does not offer bike-specific "kits". These fairing require 1) substantial prep work prior to painting, 2) that you fabricate your own mounting brackets, and 3) that you source the windscreens from another supplier (refer to the link on the Airtech site). The FarleyandAce products referenced by a previous poster appear to be ready-to-install and are commensurately much more expensive.

I am intrigued by the Farley and Ace products...it looks like they require relocating the oil cooler, but I wonder what else is necessary.

Anyone have any first hand experience with one?
