Engine starts choking with open throttle

Just washed my bike. 07 Speedmaster. Took her for ride after. I cannot open up the throttle all the way or she will start choking as if she will stall. If I let up on throttle she catches herself and then I can accelerate slowly but not into high RPM range or she will start choking. Did I get water in somewhere?

Carbed bike? Sounds like water in the float bowl(s), I've had this happen before, water is denser than gas so it sits at the bottom of the float bowl where the main jet will pick it up but the idle jet/circuit will not.

I'm not up on this particular model, but it's it's got carbs I'd recommend draining some fuel from the floats and give that a shot.

I've said this before but was laughed out of the thread: a drop of water will block a jet quite easily. Gas won't shift it. A quick cure to try out if it ever happens is to rev up the engine and immeaditely place your hand over the intake snorkel, blocking the airflow. The huge suction created will often clear the water out of the jet or airway.

I would check for water on plug wires and around coil.Maybe check and see if air filter is dry .I dont know how water would get inside the carbs by washing it unless you shot it in fuel bowl vents. You might run it awhile and let it set and dry out .

Gotta be able to rev up the engine first, but if you can that could certainly help.
