Tyres and dynamometers

Just spotted this on the Dunlop motorcycle tyre site:-

http://www.dunlopmotorcycle.com/info....asp?id=11#tip

Quote:-
Never put a tire in use that has been subjected to on-the-motorcycle dynamometer engine testing. This severe use of the tire may result in tread compound degradation and subsequent failure.
Unquote.

Has anybody heard this before? There must be thousands of bikes running around that have seen a dynamometer run (or three) and I'll bet they're not all swapping tyres before and after each run.

Comments anyone?

THAT IS A JOKE.100%BS .If the dyno hurts a tire I dont want that tire on my bike.I guess if you spin the tire on wet roads they say buy a new one to.Sell lots of tires that way lol.

Triumph has the same disclaimer in their owners manual somewhere - it is exactly that - a disclaimer. It's meaningless - just there as an anti lawsuit measure.
