Latest Scrambler Mods ....

As usual I do most of my mods during the winter. Not much to do this year as I have pretty much done everything I wanted already. Anyway here are a few from this year so far.

I addded the seat/rack to my scrambler after a lot of procrastination. Been carrying my laptop in my backpack on some long trips and wanted to put it somewhere else. I know there have been some complaints about the amount of weight you can put on it, but I typically carry less than twenty pounds anyway so it is fine for me.

I did the ignition switch relocation as previously posted by others. I really disliked the switch mount on the Scrambler and I think this cleans it up great. I re-did the harness to move the connector under the tank. I like it!!

I wanted a place to plug my GPS into for power but did not like the location (or price) of the Aux outlet from Triumph so I purchased just the outlet for $12 online and drilled a hole in the steering head brace on the right side. I extended the pre-wired Aux connector wires about 14 inches and now have an outlet that won't burn the accessory cable on the exhaust pipes.

And lastly, after a sub freezing ride in January, I finally decided to put an outlet in for my heated vest. As the vest I have does not use Powerlet adapters I used a sealed automotive quality connector for power with a 10 amp fuse/holder next to it under the seat on the left side (away from the exhaust) that I can connect my vest to. I installed a mating adpater without wires when not using it (as seen below) to keep it water tight. Its just a quick seat removal and connector swap to install the vest harness.

That's it so far this winter ....

Looks good, Paul. I'll get some pics of mine up one of these days.

Thanks .....

Interested in seeing what you have done with yours lately.

Where did you end up with the jetting?

Thanks for the compliment!!

I spend an inordinate amount of time trying to figure out exactly what I want to do before starting a new project. Hopefully it shows ....

That red bag is a 25 year old plus Chase Harper envelope sized carry-all that I got as a freebee at a motorcycle show. I have been using it ever since as a backup tool bag.

I have a Leatherman multitool, small pliers, adjustable wrench, some allen wrenches, ty-wraps, a few butt splice electrical connectors, a 3 foot piece of insulated wire, about twleve inches of electrical tape wrapped around an 8mm socket, and a tire pressure gauge. You should see what I have in my regular tool-kit I attach to the seat-rack now!!!

My latest mods are here.

I'm currently running 125 mains with one shim. Based on Ventura's posts though, I'll be installing Thruxton needles and losing the shim.

Quick summary for reference:
TORs, Airbox opening as wide as I could get it and still hold the filter in place, airbox baffle/restrictor removed.

I just did the same with my ignition switch yesterday. Well worth the effort IMO. It looks like you have the front turn signals screwed into the headlight. How did you do that? Bikes looking good. Time to take it out of the work shed and on the road.

Front Turn Signal Mod

Hi BornAgain

I have had a few other ask me how I did the front turn signal mod as below.

I just posted a blog on how to do it. I had it written up but never took the time to post it. You can find it here:

Paul, great job your bike looks great. I just bought a Scrambler, and hate the way the ignition key sticks out. Tried a search on the relocation modification, but could not locate any.

So can you tell me how you did it or point me in the right direction.

Thanks Andy
