extra bits and a ques

I think I have it right and these are extra parts

http://members.cox.net/alex247/extrabits.jpg

But what is this thing at the link below that had a hose connected to the little barrel?

http://members.cox.net/alex247/huh.jpg

Should I reinstall the little barrel and reattach the hose that connected the object with the electrical connection to the little barrel or is it cool to leave this ... thing ... with the electrical connection as you see it and just zip tie it up. Damn I hope someone understands what I wrote.

Oh and it would be helpful to know what the "thing" with the electrical cable is?

In other news .. just came back from a a 60 mile ride with the wife and I do love this bike!!

Just remove that thing and pull the connector up under the left side cover and tie it off. No worries.

I also took all that stuff off - think I had the same question about the "thing" too. Took it all off, left the wires, threw the canister, etc. into garbage.

cool ..

now there is a hose that was attached to one of these canisters that seems to go up to the "T" fitting that then goes to both carburators. Does that hose stay or am I pulling the hoses off of the carburators and putting rubber caps on those two nipples.

That is the vent to the carb bowls. Don't plug it. Just remove the hose and twist the whole "T" fitting so that the open end points down (to keep dirt and water out).

The back carb nipples I capped, the other two, on the intake flanges, I put a single piece of hose across, joing the two.
