Freak install / AI question
So I finally got out in the garage last night to install the freak kit. Pretty straight forward for the most part, but the pictures on the instructions suck & I am not sure where or how I am supposed to mount the crankcase breather.
Also, the AI removal instructions are picture free, so Im not sure where everything goes. Is there a picture instructional anywhere? I cant find one online...
Cheers

Sharp,
The crankcase breather usually just plugs into the end of the hose coming out of the crankcase. The hose was connected to the airbox, fit the breather filter that end. Genrally it's left to "hang", as it were. Some people make a bracket to secure it, some even make a catch can to go with it.
There are several threads that can be found following this link, which show some different ideas:

Check this link out, which should give you some guidance on AI removal. this particular one is a home made AI removal, but the installation is pretty much the same.
Hope this helps.

That AI removal link is perfect! Muchos Gracias
I can see letting the crank breather "hang", as the hose isnt long enough to facilitate bolting it to anything. There is a ziptie that came in the package, so perhaps I can zip it on somewhere...
Seems like this should have been thought of & included in the kit. Thats fine though, I am happy with the rest of the kit.
Cheers

I just did mine yesterday, get at the tank tubes from the right side of the bike and its easy. The only problem I ran into was I had the low profile nuts and i didnt have a long enough 5mm allen wrench,
little trick: wd40 the old injectors as you may be able to get them out by hand (they get loose) and some 13mm wrenchs dont fit.
Nothings ever easy...

just bend the tubes back and forth till they brake then use a socket to get the nut out.

Quick question
There is an oddly shaped bent coat hanger looking wire that attached to the back of the battery tray. This is just for keeping the wires in place correct?

Here are a few pics from my phone, including the new bags that my wifey got me for xmas!

Looking good!
A word of caution though - do you still have stock jets in it? If you are going to run it without new jets, and have pulled the airbox, it might be quite lean - possibly dangerously so. I recommend you put the new jets in first. Better to be a bit rich at first, and tune it from there.

Not related to your mod, I just wanted to say how much I like the look of your speedy. I think Triumph made one of the best looking lightweight cruizers on the market. Too bad we don't see more of them. A black Speedy with Bub pipes caught my eye a few years back and got me to the Triumph dealer.
