Sticky Throttle Return
Outside of loose cables, what else can hinder throttle return.
I fiddle with adjusters and cables seem to be tight, but something is hindering throttle return.
Any ideas?
Thanks.

Some have found the throttle assy touching the housing after doing something with the grips, etc. I see you have a 2009. If you haven't been doing anything in the way of changes to the handlebars, etc, that could cause problems, I would suggest taking it back to the dealer. The throttle slack is more touchy on the EFI models, so I would let the dealer set it up correctly, if it were mine.

Also make sure the twistgrip rubber isn't binding on the end cap.

Problem Solved
Not too sure how it happened, but I checked on the bike this morning, and the throttle no longer sticks.
Awesome...a self-healing bonnie.

End Cap
When it sticks again do check the end cap as PieMan said.
I just stumbled upon the fix.
Mine stuck in the afternoon last summer but would work fine in the morning. Heat expansion was probably the issue. You can only back off the end cap so much. I took some fine grit sand paper and took a little off of the throttle grip. A file would work fine also.
The dealer didn't have a clue what to do.

Cheap Chinese made generic dimpled Harley handlebars that are out-of-round is a likely culprit.

If you do find the binding is caused by the grip rubbing on the bar end cap, don't take sand paper or a file to it. All you need to do is slightly loosen the two screws that clamp the throttle and brake reservoir to the bars and move the whole assembly slightly away from the bar end so it no longer fouls. Re-tighten the screws (obviously) and you're done.

I'll take that approach next summer.
