New D&D exhaust arrived, should it have rust?!

My new D&D exhausts arrived today. They appear to be new, inside packing looks clean and no discoloration from heat/use, however, there was rust visible on the inside, and also around the mount welds. Now the rust did come off, and the welds seem to be ok, but I'm wondering if I should be concerned or if it's common when these pipes are stored without use or what. ? Picture links below. If anyone has any experience with this I'd appreciate some feedback.

Contact your vendor yet?

Normally the stand up thing to do before posting on a forum.

D&Ds have a stellar reputation--

Yes, just waiting on a reply from them. Didn't think about it in that way and definitely wasn't trying to imply any fault of D&D, I know they are great. I was just eager to know if it was odd or normal, but I appreciate your angle on waiting. Makes sense.

Not a problem after all.

D&D support sent me a note right away saying that it's not a problem and the rust did come off with a little polish. Great that they respond so quickly. Good company. Guess I was worried for nothing. Can't wait to hear how they sound.

Over the last four years, there have been more than a few on this forum who have complained of rust problems with D&D's. I wouldn't worry about rust inside as it will be coated with exhaust soot; however, any rust on the outside WILL return unless treated properly.
I have not read of any rust complaints on this forum for any other brand silencer.

How much do D&D's run again? I would think if you are going aftermarket, you would want stainless, though the preds and dominators are quite costly.
