Carb Tuning

Keith,
If you do not need jettng, and are just looking for syncronization, you ought to pick up a TwinMax. They're only about $80.00, and they are quite simple to use.

Everything is right there in front of you. Just pull a hose, hook it up,and it's pretty easy from there.

The Hines manual displays it pretty nicely. It's easy with the TwinMax, and you'll probably get a better job than if you took it into the shop.

I use it on my oilhead Beemer, and it works great. I have to pull all the plastic fairing parts off the Beemer first. That's four tmes the work of syncronizing the throttle bodies. My Bonnie is due, and I will be doing it shortly. Believe me, it's a piece of cake...

Cheers...

Keith, my dealings with Detroit Triumph have been great. Dave in service is a damn good mechanic and has shown me how to perform maintance and upgrades so I wouldnt have to take my bike in ( I live 1.5 hrs away) he will explain anything and everything to you and show you tricks to get around not having to remove everything on the bike per the service manual. I would say he will do you a fine job with no dissappointments.

My only dealing with Detroint Triumph had nothing to do with carbs, but they were exceptional in that the mechanic came in to the shop on a Sunday to set me up with a new tire/mount/balance. I'd taken a nail through the sidewall on the rear on I-75 and would have been stuck if they hadn't been cool...

Cheers,

--Rich
