Larger Throwover bags on Bonneville?

I've got a 2008 Bonneville Black on order after totaling-out my 2007 Sportster 883. One thing I did like about the Sporty was the large throwover bags I fitted. Most Bonnies I see have very small bags.

I know I'll need to install the guards to keep the bags off the wheel but is there any reason I can't cover the shocks? Is there something else at work here that I'm not seeing?

Any photos of larger bag Bonnies/Scramblers/Thruxtons would be very much appreciated.

TIA,
Ruger

Hope this helps... bought luggage guards from newbonniville but probably didn't need them but they are easy to take on and off... otherwise these cortechs are relatively inexpensive and decently made...

Ruger,
try this thread;

http://www.triumphrat.net/twins-tech...th-photos.html

If you search within the twins talk forum for "saddlebags" you will get about 200 threads, many with photos.
Lots of folks ride with large bags(mostly on trips though).
