Bonneville T100 2007

Hi,

Loved Triumphs for 30 years now and have a nice collection of Meriden models.

I bought a Hinckley Thunderbird two years ago and was (and still) greatly impressed by its looks, handling, power and most of all its reliability. So much so, I have just bought a 2007 T100. I have not yet taken delivery of it, it arrives on August 7th. Can`t wait!!!
However, I do have a question that maybe you guys could answer. The colour scheme it has is the Lucifer orange and Silver. After some research I have discovered that it is not a 2007 colour scheme. The only model to support these colours was the 2002 model. I had been looking for this particular colour scheme because it is very similar to the 1969 scheme and had been looking for a couple of months for one and only found three, all of which were 2007 models.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Davy

Probably had the tank and tins swapped, I saw a Scrambler the other day that was the T100 green/silver, the original owner either swapped or sold his Scrambler paintwork.

That lucifer orange/silver is a great color scheme, the 02's had a great choice for colors.

Davy,

Where are you located? Whilst the Lucifer Orange & Silver was officially an 02 colour scheme, in the UK at least, dealers can order any colour scheme that has previously been used if you want it. So it's quite possible that your 07 came from the factory with that paint scheme.

Paul.

Paul,

I am in the UK (Ayrshire, Scotland) and that does sound like a logical explanation.

Thanks.

Just as a matter of interest, should the mudguards sport an orange stripe?

Paul.
Pls correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the Lucifer Orange and Silver colors were only available on the '02 Centennial Edition T100s, along with a very few early (built in Oct '02) '03 CE T100s. Are you saying that a guy can walk into a Triumph dealer in the UK and order Centennial colors on a new Bonnie? It doesn't make sense to offer a "special edition" if anyone can order one just like it.

I bought a new '02 CE T100 just after the fire in March '02.. and I just bought a '03 CE T100 a little over two years ago to replace the '02 after I sold it to a buddy.

Still one of my favorite colors on the new Bonnies.

Rats. Now there's something that you guys across the pond have on us Yanks. We get what we get for that model year. I'm sure it would take a month of Sundays to get the older color schemes.:
