Curves, curves, curves

I did put on the New Bonneville plate (http://www.triumphrat.net/twins-talk...ml#post1062470) but the more I looked at it the less I liked the flat bottom under the rear frame rails, even though I made a custom light and plate holder to go with it.

So I bravely cut my OEM fender with a jig saw a la Youtube video and finished it on a belt sander and then added a Lucas/OEM signal assembly of my own construction onto the rear fender. Looks more authentic, maybe a bit bobberish. Interestingly the side edge of the fender was 5/16 longer on the left side than the right side !!! Just like the handbeaten panels of yore...though this one came from Thailand judging by my VIN.

Anyway, the Thruxton is all about curves. The flat plate just didn't do it for me. Whaddya all think ?

HiVel, I answered your question in a new thread here http://www.triumphrat.net/twins-tech...ml#post1082336

Decided to start a new thread so others could find it easier in the future.

Nice job on the fender, but why the stock turn signals? Very nice execution though, and good looking bike.

Thanks. I kept the stockers for no particular reason. I like them (I think), they go well with the chrome lucas light replica, and its a bit of that something old, something new thing I suppose. Alternative is the classic or replica lucas turn signals too. That would work too.

Thanks. And here are the latest pics. Changed the turn signals to the 70's style lucas ones. Think it works well with the look. Couldn't have done the whole bike without the group of people on this web site with their imagination and advice.
