Thumbs up

Thanks for the link LIJ,

I like the looks of the bonnie, the wheels look good, I do hope they keep the option of having alloy/chrome spoked wheels as an option when you buy tho. Im actualy a fan of the more classic styled pipes but do think the thruxton style suit this bike. Overall I don't think theres enough visual changes to stress about as they have the look on their original new version more or less down to a tee.

Looks like they went back through all the 1980's Japanese cruzer catalogs for styling inspiration for that thing. I mean, those mufflers are just......WOW!! Some company is going to get rich making slip-ons for those things. The whole thing looks like a puffed up Kawasaki Eliminator 250 from about 1988.Such wasted potential. Sorry.

I do like that anniversary Bonnie a lot.

Cheers!
Bruce

OK I guess. The alloy wheels are alright, and the thrux style mufflers look OK. I don't like the fact that they have apparently lowered the seat height 1", but then again I'm not too surprised about that either.

Triumph will Show 2009's at VMD

For those of us going to Vintage Motorcycle Days, Triumph will have the "2009 New Motorcycle Unveiling on the Race Track" at noon Saturday. I will take pictures and I'm sure I won't be alone.

here goes

Ok, I'll put my head on the block...I don't like the look of the new bonnie, with the alloys and upswept cans. Reminds me too much of a CB750, which I suppose may be the point, considering how many of those Honda sold...

But I do like the marketing strategy of selling the "70's" version alongside the more "60's" styled bonnie t-100. That way, everyone gets a choice. I wonder what the price points will be, will the t-100 be considered the more "premium" model, or will the newer model get the nod?

I like the range.

I agree with Lance that with the marketing covering a wider range of Bonnie's they offer a lot more than before.

I think it's beautiful, and as an historian I think there's something just *right* about Triumph choosing to evolve the retro bike along the same path that it evolved when it wasn't retro! Wish I could have one of each.

With those new wheels being aluminum they should be nice and light - and presumably it means they'll have tubeless tires? That would be a nice improvement. Wonder how long until one of these is on the showroom floor.

And I guess they're all EFI?
