Sorry, but this isn't even as cool as the Japanese bikes... What a bummer. Looks like a Chinese copy—or a big "1985 Magna". I think the Spy Shots looked better than this. It looked better with the Scrambler seat, Speedmaster wheels and all of the junk parts. What's with that pointy chrome? Take a look at this Star cruiser. They got it more right than Triumph...http://www.xtremepowersports.com/Dis..._blk_3_mid.jpg

That thing looks lame. And I was all excited too..... I think the Brits are behind in Cruiser stylings somehow. This look hasn't been around since they first started copying Harley's. They should fire the guy that designed this. Why didn't they make it look like a "FAT" America, or Speedmaster? Stupid. That will never sell here, unless it's to some geek that doesn't know better.

I must respectfully disagree. I do believe it needs some tweaking but overall it is on the right track. I also would like a "FAT" America but I have a feeling that this Thunderbird is going to have some muscle. Maybe something to compete with the Suzuki M109r. If that is the case then they have that pesky emissions requirement.
I also turned on the folks at the Triumph dealer that were unaware of the new lineup. They agreed that the exhaust just doesn't look right but still thought they would be able to sell lots of them.

There goes Triumph once again disappointing the cognoscenti and making another stride on the road to increased popularity and profitability. Silly Triumph.

Don't fire the designer. He's working to a brief. Fire the management team that prepared the brief, the people who over saw it and whoever organised the focus groups that suggested this was what the market wanted! Designers are only as good as people who brief them.

Mind you, I'm not sure there's any excuse for that radiator. Now the 1970s retro Bonnie... that I could happily buy.

Thumbs down Come on, Triumph...

Like alot of others, I'm a little disappointed in the Tbird. Was hoping it would be my next bike. Maybe they'll use that motor in another model more suiting to our expectations.

I do like the new Bonnie line, though. Does anybody know if that black Bonnie is the new basic model now? I like it ALOT!

If you could get one out of one hundred who are still crazy about the fugly 1985 Magma to buy a Thunderbird then you'd have a very successful motorbike!

Hey, I'm interested and once it hits the dealer, it will be investigated further....I like my Speedmaster, but always thought it under-powered.

With this, If the Weight to Power is good and handles well...I think it will go into the garage.

A couple of years

Hey all, I am new here and am currently saving for a new bike. I figure about two years and I can buy a new bike (first owned but not first ridden). I had been hoping that Triumph would make a cruiser with power and here it is. No H-D for me. I want British iron. Of course if they came out with a Thruxton 1600 I may have to change my mind, but for now it is the new T-Bird for me. I guess I am what Triumph is targeting; cruiser minded but not H-D minded.

I like cruisers and I DON'T LIKE IT, It's the rad, they have to taper it.
