IF Triumph come out with the 675 Tiger Cub I'd be interested in that too, though it may rev a little too high to be really useful offroad.

The tiger cub does sound interesting. I have been checking out the Aprilia's lately and they make this one but I don't think it is available in the states.

Thumbs up

That 675 Daytona pulls like a rabid rabbit! I can just imagine one of those things shredding knobbies right off the tires! Fast. Fun. Light...

Done right it could be one heck of a bike...

options

I really fancied the 800 GS untill i saw the price tag after a few optons, its quite tall too. The difference in price just dint warrant it plus i love the look of the scram.

The other bike i considered was the new tenere but an impulse purchase meant i didnt even get to see one in the flesh.

I took mine down a deep rutted rocky road the other day and you do feel the weight of the bike gawd knows what a GS1200 feels like - i'm not surprise Ewan McG fell off so many times.

I have been drooling over the new MG Stelvio... not yet in the US... but most likely out of my reach, at least new. The new Aprilia Dorsoduro is also very interesting... although more of a motard than dual purpuse.

I went in to the local dealer a few weeks ago with full intentions of buying a 2008 flat black V-strom. After chatting with the owner, he talked me out of that and (possibly) into a Bonneville. I haven't gone back yet but that's why I'm on here.

After sitting on the two, the Bonneville feels a lot more comfortable to me. I'm not short (32 in. inseam) but the V-strom felt way too tall and top heavy. I really think I'm going to jump ship and get the Bonnie this weekend though.

I used to work for the local BMW shop and after seeing the price tags and maintenance costs I don't think I could ever do that.

I love to look at bikes at dealerships but similar to what Threet says I see that most if not all of the bikes feel and look big to me. Most have huge plastic fins on the tanks and you just know that when you drop it you are looking at a fortune to repair.

I keep looking at the Scrambler and thinking that it is the perfect size for me.

I had a '72 Daytona 500 that fit like a glove and what I miss most is tickling the carbs just right to fire her on the first kick. And then it would be the most beautiful mix of vibration and that Brit steel rumble that TOR's are shooting for but no pipes on a current bike ould ever really duplicate that throaty British growl. The Bonnie's a beautiful and well handling ride but for sheer ear to ear grins that never really go away after you ride her home from the dealer I can't think of another bike with this much fun and peppy mid range torgue and enough power to get the adrenaline flowing but not so much that you forget your riding and get splatted in a testosterone fueld ball of fire. And you can't deny the mega Knivel-Fonzie-McQueen factor.

I owned and rode a BMW 12GS. A very competent bike in many ways. Homely, efficient in a teutonic way, heavier feeling than the Scram, too technical to work on myself, service and parts expensive, mostly plastic, no soul.

I've been considering getting a '08 Kawi KLR650 to rip around on the limestone roads around here, but rumors of the Tiger Cub have made me reluctant to pull the trigger. How real is this rumor??
