Newbie biker on a new bonnie
After many years of thinking about getting a bike, I finally took the MSF course two weeks ago, and took the plunge. I purchased a new silver bonnie last Saturday, and have since clocked in just over 400 miles. I suppose I'll be taking her to the bike doctor for her first checkup next week (since I'm positive I'm gonna cross over the 500 miles mark some time this week, if not today! I've already put on 120 miles today!). Once I'm on her, I just can't get off of her!
I really don't like my bike sounding like George Jetson's car on steroids, so I think I'll be changing the exhaust real soon. I've thought about a bafflectomy, but I think that I'll leave the original mufflers untouched and save them any future need that might arise for them. After the exhaust, the suspension (dual-rate springs up front, and at least some emulsion type shocks in the back, and an upgraded fork brace) is next in line, followed by a possible brake system upgrade. I have no engine upgrades in mind, except for maybe AI removal. The bike is plenty fast enough for me; I wanna improve driving and stopping.
Time for lunch, and seems like the best way to have it is to take the uber long way to my favorite burger joint.
