Going to Demo a Bonnie tomorrow

And I am stoked. I'm not planning on buying for a couple of months, but this is the only dealer around with a demo. I'm in love with the looks. I hope I'm just as happy after riding one.

Most excellent - enjoy the demo. After riding it - I really think you will need to bring your purchase date forward.

Enjoy - and welcome to the forum!

My fiance says that I'm not strong enough to actually walk out of the dealership without one. This is the first time I've been bikeless since we've been together

Funny, I just did the same thing....

Yesterday, a local Triumph dealer offered demo rides, and I went "just to look".

I traded in my FZ6 right there on the spot and now own an '08 Bonneville!

Attaboy Morgan - what Bonnie did you get? Would love to see pics of it when you have a chance.

Do you have it now, or do you have to go pick it up yet?

Well done, and welcome to the forum!

I got the standard Bonneville in a wine red color. Got it yesterday afternoon and already have almost 400 miles on it.

I really love this bike! There are only a few things I"d like to make improvements on.

The first fillup I calculated only 34mpg mixed city\highway
The second fillup got me 41mpg, but that was 100% highway riding at 65mph or less (I was following a friend who prefers to ride slow on the highway). I hope to get at least 40mpg without babying the throttle.

The seat left a nasty sore spot on my arse, but all stock seats do that to me. Somewhere down the line I"ll have to pick up an aftermarket seat.

I take lots of long trips, and I have had flat tires hundreds of miles from home in the past. I want to have a spare set of mag wheels so I can run tubeless for easy roadside repairs. Anybody know where to look for them?

The pipes are already turning blue. Will this air injection eliminator kit really reduce the blueing?

The rear shocks are garbage, just as all stock shocks are. It looks like I can get a nice set of shocks for $400 or so. This is priority #1. The front shocks are actually pretty good for stock. I hear that you can install Thruxton preload adjusters with no modification - is this true?

I hate you!

Why do I ALWAYS get crappy gas mileage no matter how hard I try? My SV650 never did better than 33mpg unless I went painfully slow on the highway.

The FZ6 was pretty good at 41mpg mixed city/highway, but other FZ owners claimed low 50's.

I live in Philadelphia.... maybe they have a different gas formulation than in other parts. (?)
