Where do I introduce myself?

Getting a Thruxon, just didn't know if you folks do the whole 'introduce yourself' gig.

The proper protocol is to run naked around the block with the Union Jack painted on your back side.

Just joking welcome aboard.

Hello Timer!! Welcome to the posting Capital of the Triumph world. I've had a ton of fun swapping lies and heeding advice. You'll learn something new every day. Mostly good stuff, sometimes bad stuff.:

Dive in, the water's fine.

There's also a more Thruxton oriented board here,
but there's lots of Thruxton stuff on this board too.
Welcome.

:
Cheers!

Intros are always great. Welcome Timmer, this is a great place. Of course a welcome is always better with a pic of the ride, when you get it.

Here's the story and why no picture yet...

I have been riding since April of 1999. Bikes in my past have been a Suzuki GS500, CBR600, Sportster, SV650, Kawi Z1000, and most recently a Ducati S2R1000. I have also had a number of dirt bikes and a quad during that 9 years since I became involved in moto. I am in my mid thirties and consider myself at least a somewhat experienced rider, albeit not a highly skilled one.

Bought my S2R on 4/16/08 with cash saved up. Got a smoking deal. 22 days later I lost control of it, low sided after front end skid, and crashed. The crumby part was angling left during the crash and colliding with my friend on his brand new, tricked out Aprilia Tuono. We are both going to be okay and his bike was the least damaged. Mine was estimated at $14,000 damage (it had over 5k worth of parts. It is totaled after 22 days in my garage.

So Ducati is cool, but a pain in the but. The dealer is over 110 miles away and those beasts are expensive to service. Mine was an 06 and I had just paid 525 bucks to service it for two year maintainence.

I will get my insurance check (making money on the deal even after deductible) once my title arrives. Oregon DMV is not known for speed. So my silver with red stripe 08 is being held at the local dealer (5 miles away) until I have the check in hand. So hopefully by this time next week you kids will be able to see a picture of my scooter.
