Photobucket

Why don't the web hosts drop photobucket. I'm fairly new to this site and many times while reserching a modification I find where pictures have been posted however when I try to look at them I get a square with "photobucket" and "this photo has been deleted" printed in it. I feel cheated by the junk "photobucket" operation. I could use the deleted photos to assist me in performing mods to my bike.

JUNK PHOTOBUCKET OR DO WHAT IS NECESSARY TO KEEP THE PHOTOS ON THE POSTS SO PEOPLE LIKE ME CAN SEE THEM!!

I just assumed it was the fault of the poster not the host. People change the names or locations of the pictures in a photobucket album over time and don't think of the effect that change will have on previous posts that reference them. I see this on the network in my office all the time. Not intentional but still a pain in the arse.

I "clean out" my photobucket once in a while and delete pics.If that pic was in a post at some time,it goes away too. It has nothing to do with Photobucket or the RatNet. Just PM the poster that posted it in the first place. If they are like me,they will have 6 more pics beside the one they posted..

I've never had a single complaint about photobucket. I've used it a long time.

If a picture link is broken, you can assume it's the account holder has renamed or deleted the picture in question.

I think Photobucket cautions the owner of an album that moving a photo to another album could will break the link to it from other sites. It would be nice if their system could track moves so moving a photo would make no difference, but what the hey.... the service is free, and it works for me.

Like they said. Photobucket is fine, it's user error.

Yes, I guess it works for posting pics temporarily. Some of you wrote of "cleaning out" or "moving" photos to other foldersas causing this to happen. Is ther a size limit for number of pics allowed by PB? If there is, then when one has to alter their PB account for whatever reason, it cheats newer posters out of potentially important information in the quest for the perfect bike.

I'm no "kumpewtur eggspurt" but I know enough to know that a program can be upgraded/improved as need is determined to exist. I just don't have "eggspurteese" to finger out how to do it. Bill Gates has made Billions of $$$$$$$$ just by upgrading/marketing the windows operating system (and others) every few years.

If BG can upgrade/improve the software programs he writes, so can the photobucket/TriumphRat.net people. What about the hosts of this site upgrading it to allow the moderators to approve and permantly post photos of tech information, say as a "sticky" or as an all new twins technical site with permanent pics? Then the info is available to newbies like me who need it.

I'm probably just dreaming of this happening but if mankind didn't dream of a better way, we would still be throwing rocks at each other, instead of shooting and blowing up our neighbors (hmmmmm, mabe some of the old ways are better after all). Don't worry, I'm not getting on my soapbox
