I'm the cable guy and was at a customers home a few weeks ago and her 2-3 year old son saw my tattoos and asked if I like motorcycles and I said yes and that I had a motorcycle. His eyes grew to the size of silver dollars. He then rolled out his little plastic pedal trike (with flames) and donned an extremely deflated football as a helmet and said, "Here's mine!"

It's not what I saw but what happened tonight. The bishop was here for Confirmation, he pulled up in his big black buick something, (the one with the portals on the quarterpanels) - of course, he wasn't actually driving it, his secretary was, a young priest. They park right next to my bike which I had forgotten to "hide". Some of my fellow vol. firefighters were there and asked the bishop if he liked my bike. He didn't seem impressed (go figure!) I told him it's great for pastoral visits since it gives me great incentive to get out of the rectory and visit parishioners. One of the guys says, "Yeah Bishop, it really gets us talkin' about Jesus with Father. We're always telling him, "Jesus, Father, that's a nice bike."

Again he didn't seem impressed. I was a bit embarrased but deep inside was laughing just as much as my friends were. I think they may have stopped off at the firehouse bar before Mass.

Many things make me smile but today (here in California) I was filling up on base here at NAS Lemoore and every other pump was taken filling up SUV's or pick-em-up trucks and when I topped off I yelled out "$12 bucks!!!???" I got a bunch of dirty looks as I rode off. But is was not all fun and games, it was 103 F out here today!

Didn't smile, laffed hysterically

A man, looked like he was 6 ft+, 350+ pounds wearing a huge sombrero, riding one of the old Honda 50cc cubs. All that was visible was two wheels coming out of his crotch and huge sombrero going down the road. You had to see it, words can not even begin to describe it

Not the same kind of story I'm afraid - but I was out and about this morning, and I rounded the south side of buffalo lake in minnesota, a fresh, clean smelling breeze blew in, a float plane glided overhead and landed, and two pretty girls waved as I rode past - the sun shining through the trees and their brunette hair.

The moment was right, and I smiled a cheshire cat smile.

simple, fun stuff.
