No doubt the copyright is owned by a Chinese Company already?

The rights are owned by a number of different companies, Casper (there's another thread on this subject somewhere), but rights for making BSA bikes are still owned by BSA Regal in Southampton, probably not much more than an hour's ride from where you live. Until very recently the company was still making a "Gold Star", but sadly with an imported engine (Suzuki I think), rather than its own. I don't think it was a seller, so as far as I know production has stopped.
As for the Scram, like Ringadingdoo says, the book 40 Summers Ago can probably tell you everything you need to know about what the Scrambler's designers were trying to pay homage to, as well as the McQueen connection. It's the story of Bud Ekins' attempt to track down the original bike decades after the ISDT event in which he and Mac participated. Unfortunately, the book must have had a very short print run, because it's only available second-hand. It rarely if ever appears on Amazon UK, but it does surface on Amazon US from time to time, usually at quite a premium. There's one available now for 49.95 USD, but often US sellers won't ship to Europe. I think it is written in English and Japanese (Ringadingdoo can probably put me right on that). I have seen a copy, and it was the first time that I even discovered what colour Mac's bike was - until then I'd only ever seen B/W photos.
