I honestly think the mods do a good job - it's a thankless task. Sweat was right to delete those posts, but in fairness to pfm, the post he replied to was off topic, and should have been deleted too.

Nevertheless - critiscism is easy. It's the man in the arena that counts, and I reckon the mods do pretty well. I have surfed a few forums, and this one runs pretty well. Well done all.

Everyone should go look up that Roosevelt speech. Search for "man in the arena".

What'd I miss?

Geez! A man goes for a ride, & all h*ll breaks loose. What happened?
I'm going fishing now. I hope there's still a forum here for me to log into, when I get back.

***?

So it seems to me that all the posts except the first one in this thread were "off topic", because the topic as chosen was "Moderation or Censorship", not "Let's only say nice things".

And, for all the many, many good characteristics of rat.net, it's definitely the C word, all the way. A site that has code in place to edit your PRIVATE MESSAGES so that words you might use in day to day conversation to add a little punch, words you and your precious 8 year old children can hear on TV any night of the week, words that quite frankly are right there in the **** dictionary (oops, see??), words that are delivered PRIVATELY to only one other member in the course of a conversation... when plain old words are rendered as ****, ****, ****, ****, ************, etc. -- that, my friends, is censorship.

And don't even get me started on the H word, the one that then has a ypocrisy after it. Mostly because I'll just go on and on with a ridiculous number of examples, but also because, in *this* post, it would be "off topic".

Ride on.

Can't speak for anyone else, but I drank a couple of bottles of wine, and just had some BRILLIANT ideas to save the world. I would write them down but I expect I'll remember them.

No but seriously folks - just remember the mods work on a voluntary basis - they can't be watching everything all the time, so a couple of things will slip through here and there. It's just that the slip throughs never seem to include reduced apparell on the female part of the species.

Hmmmmmm.

Ahhhh - nearly the weekend - time for more bike stuff.
