New guy looking for opinions of my customization order

I'm the new guy on the block and am ashamed of the name I chose after seeing your guys bikes....wow.

Well, I just picked up a 2007 T100 red/black with 200 miles on it. I've ordered all of the following for my first round of customizations. Please tell me what you think as I haven't taken reciept of the orders yet or installed anything, but I've done some homework so hope I'm not too far off.

1. British Customs Performance Package with Predators pipes and airbox and air injection elimination kits.
2. Chrome headlight brackets
3. Chrome Grab rail
4. Fork gaitors
5. Center stand
6. New Bonneville superbars
7. Napoleon bar end mirrors and mirror hole plugs

your off to a fast start considering you only got 22 miles on her.
The list looks good. You doing the work yourself?
Since you got a BLK/RD, how about a powder coated black headlight bucket to really show off the chome headlight buckets?

welcome

If it was me, I would leave off:

2. Chrome headlight brackets
3. Chrome Grab rail
4. Fork gaitors
5. Center stand
7. Napoleon bar end mirrors and mirror hole plugs

That crap listed above isnt going to do much for you, and none of the 68 line of crap isnt either. There are several other perfomance mods that can be done. It does look like a good start with the airbox elimation, and the pipes. Dont forget to rejet, hehe.

Thanks MES and Nathan

Mes..thanks...nope. Having my local dealer do it for me. Guess I'm not much of a wrencher...cool idea on the headlight bucket. Thanks.

Nathan...appreciate your opinions too, but I think on the cosmetic stuff it's sort of subjective...but, I would really appreciate any specifics you have on the jetting...I'm sending an e-mail to British Customs and have talked to my mechanic. Thanks for the tip!

After your planned mods go after the suspension, Traxxion emulators and damping rods, fork springs progressive or racing, and kick a$$ rear shocks.

Your best bet for jetting in my mind is to talk to the exp mechs at your dealership, and see what has been good for them over the years with the mods you are going to do. They can give you a good starting point, and then its all butt dyno from there.

Yeah, I am not much for all that cosmetic crap to say the least, esp when it comes to the gaitors, bar end mirrors, and the so called "pedistrian slicer"

AI elim, preds and jetting, yes

But work on your suspension too, before spending a bunch of money on chrome bits.

Tuned suspension makes a huge difference to your bike, or any bike, even more than horsepower!

Shrum and Haggis

Great advice on the suspension...thanks.

I'm gonna start working on the suspension plan with the info you provided me.

As to the chrome bits...hey I'm a Californian and live in Venice Beach...gotta love the chrome. I'm gonna ride this baby where everyone goes to show off their Harley's and I need to make sure the Bonnie is properly represented.

It's not an either or on the chrome or suspension...you guys seem to know what you're talking about. I'm gonna do the suspension for sure.

I'm not into the chrome bits - spend the money on suspension and whatnot, but I like that gaitors. They look the part, and provide a useful function - they look better than the fork protectors in my honest opinion.

An idea

Browse the galleries here, and also photos of bikes on Britishcustoms.com and bellacorse.com to get an idea of the look you like.

Different style mods can take you in one direction or another, and then you find you're creating a style which isn't necessarilly you.

Some different styles - streetfighter -like sweats.
Cafe racer - stripped down, single seat, trim the mudguards, clip-on handle bars.
Flat track. Similar, with flat bars, no mudguard up front, and bigger looking tires.
60's - try and emulate a t120 etc.
Tourer - windshield, bags, sissy bar.
Bobber - fat rear wheel. High handlebars. Sissy bar.

What's the image you are trying to create?

I'm slowly blacking out my bike, and making it look like a cross between retro and street fighter.
