New Bonneville owner

Just wanted to take a minute and introduce myself. I just picked up an 05 'Bonnie T100 yesterday. I've been wanting a Triumph for some time now and I was able to make it happen so I'm very happy. It has just over 2K miles since the previous owner had it in storage for a year.

I've got a couple questions in my quest to make the bike more my own. First, I'm going to be going to M bars or Ace bars, I just need to know if they are 7/8"s or 1" bars. And along with the new bars will be a set of barend mirrors.

The luggage rack is going to be coming off as well. Dunstall pipes are going to stay. I want to put a seat cowl on for a little added storage as well as styling but from what I've been reading the cowls will not fit with the Bonnie seat, just the Thruxton, can someone confirm this for me?

Thanks!

Congrats on the new ride. She's a beaut. The bars are 1 inch. As far as I know, the seat cowl will only work on a Thruxton seat. Someone here should be able to confirm that for you. I like those Dunstall pipes too. Good luck.

creamcycle, yummmmmmmmmm

Probably the only color combo I like as much as the Bonnie Black. Love those dunstall exhausts. Gotta google and see if I can find a supplier for them.

Enjoy the ride and welcome aboard. Keep the rubber side down, beware unattentive cagers on the road.

seat bolts

the other thing I wanted to ask. Which tool-less seat bolts do you guys prefer? I see the short ones and the long ones. Apparantly the longer ones have the potential to rub on the seat and mess up the upholstery?

Welcome! Beautiful bike, and I like that truck, too. You may want to hang on to that rack after removing it, as it will come in handy on bike trips.

luggage rack

yea, I'm kicking around holding onto it but the funds generated from the sale would pay for my new bars, grips, and mirrors. I need to get a removable backrest for my girl as well. Do the factory Triumph ones come on and off easy?

Four screws remove the backrest, the mounting rail stays in place but is not obtrusive.

seat bolts

still looking for an opinion on the tool less seat bolts. long ones from Jenks or the short ones from eBay? both seem to have their advantages and disadvantages.
