Norman Hyde tachometer kit

Has anyone installed this? Any opinions?

It looks interesting but the pic on their website is so small I can't see any detail on the tacho. If anyone has a decent pic I would love to see it.

For that price, you can go with the factory tacho and a D9 bracket and still come out ahead, at least in the US.

I'd go with the fellow above... on the grounds of having both Speedo and Tach saying Triumph... I've always liked matching gauges, for me it's normally Smiths, but still... It just looks less cobbled together when they match.

That's what I figured until I learned about all of the people who have had trouble with the tacho kit. The microscopic pic of the Norman Hyde kit looked as though it may be close enough to the standard item but it is true that it would not have Triumph on it. Guess I will just shell out for a set of Thrux clocks and get white faces to boot.

What are the problems with the tacho kit? Most of them wobble a bit around 4000+ RPM, not a problem, and a few are downright defective (and replaced under warranty). It's about as reliable as I'd expect.

I'd expect them to not wobble or be defective. I've never heard of this happening with the Thrux tach.
