Great Adirondack ride today
Just back from a 200 mile round trip to Lak Placid, NY on my bike; this season's longest trek thus far. Beautiful day, mid 60's and the mountain air was great. Lots of comments and stops and looks from pedestrians and from some fellow bikers. Killed some huge Adirondack bugs with my helmet, jacket, fairing and headlight - reminds me why I wear a fullface. Great trip all in all except that my body has definitely told me that it just can't take the acebars; waiting for superbars to arrive; my kneck, shoulders, elbows and wrists will be very happy when they do. Happy riding everyone.

Good on ya. I've always wanted to see that part of the country. Post some pics if you have some!

Unfortunately I forgot my camera this morning although I had intended to snap some bike and mountain pics. I'll be sure to take some this summer though, I live just north of the Adirondacks in the St. Lawrence river valley, so I'll plenty of chances to take some great pics - that is if I remember my camera. Pabonne- great shot, yup that's what it looks like up here, scenery looks familiar, perhaps route 73 near Keene Valley. Wish there was more of your bike in that shot!

By your handle, it looks as if you work on Sunday and ride on Mondays.
Glad you had a great ride!

You got it... I have some friends who just built a house near Wilmington. Out of PA I came up rt 30 through the Catskills. Another beautiful area (better pic of the bike, though I've since added Lucas lights, Monza cap, and ditched the fork boots):

pabonne, would love to take my bike through the Catskills. Went to college in New Paltz and there are definitely great back roads to ride through the Shawangunk mtns and Catskills; those mtns give one a different feel than the Adirondacks; Dacks transmit a more wilderness advernture feel while the Catskills seem to be more magical, whimsical, expecting to see Rip Vanwinckle and gnomes sitting on rocks around every corner; up here, more like black bears! Off to Ottawa, Canada today on my bike; wish those superbars would arrive soon.

Cool ride. I didn't venture far enough on my bike when I was living in Virginia and Maryland. Rode the Appalachians a bit and lots of country roads around the Chesapeake. Should have made a couple of trips up north, only made it to New York (state) once in the short time I was on the east coast. Perhaps it's closing on time to get back there for a ride?

BTW - I hear you about the full-face helmet. Yesterday I smacked some sort of bug that hit hard! Would have HURT if it had hit me instead of the face shield.
