new guy, new bike + THANKS
Hey, all. I've been lurking for quite a while -- so first, thanks to all of you for all the information you share so generously. I finally bought my silver '07 Bonnie in March. Thanks to you all, I know much more about her and was able to make more well-informed decisions about how to spend that $1000 incentive! For the record, I picked up knee pads, gaiters, Thrux gel seat, tach, centerstand, locking fuel cap and a pair of Triumph Western Jeans (which I'm already very fond of). And to anticipate the question...$7613 OTD including DMV fees.
I've installed all the accessories except the gaiters...may have that done at the first service, as I'm already thinking about upgrading those fork springs. Am I making the front-end dive worse by being a big fat guy, or does everyone get that?
Spent some time earlier today installing a set of Modre's peg brackets; first impression is pure love. Thanks, Modre, for making these available and for being so easy to order from. My kit made it across the continent in three days, and even I managed to install it (and in less than three days!).
Given the level of experience and expertise on this forum, I'm not sure how much I can contribute...but it's sure been nice meeting you all and I'll certainly be around a while.
Jeff

Welcome aboard,
Enjoy your bonnie - post a pic so we can admire it.
If you are <ahem> a larger gentleman (like me) then yeah, the forks dive a bit more, and the rear shocks have similar troubles. They are a bit weak anyway - suspension will be my next upgrade.
Later - nicely done - sounds like a good deal you got there.

Sounds like you're well on your way to becoming a Triumph rider. Great batch of mod already done. Do the suspension at BOTH ends when you get her broke in. Enjoy the summer and look forward to hearing from you.

Congrats on the new bike Jeff. Please post some pics (for us to admire) when you get a chance. I do love the look of a silver Bonnie with knee pads. If I would have discovered this place BEFORE I bought a T100... well I might just have silver also. "Hi-Ho Silver."

Hey, Jeff...
Congrats on the new bike.
Progressive Fork Springs will do wonders for the brake dive and sharpen the handling for you. The 1st time I got on the brakes hard, before my progressives, the dive scared me half to death.
Been thinking about adding some upgraded rear shocks this Sprng. People on this forum seem impressed with the Icons.

Well, if it ain't my lurking co-worker friend. I was wondering when you would expose yourself.

Thanks for the welcome, everyone. Gary, now you know I'll expose myself with a little prompting. As requested, a photo from this morning's ride out to the lake...if I read the sticky correctly.

there's somewhere close to 60 sets out now with similar feedback...I have a dozen sets here ready to go and another 1/2 dozen stacked on the bench wishing I would finish them...but the weather's here, and I'm much more productive in the shop when others are complaining about snow...if the requests keep up, I'll punch out more next winter.
3 sets in Australia, 1 on Kauai, 1 in Finland, 1 in Athens Greece...the rest in the continental US...they do get around.
I ran a banner to allow talk, but don't advertise or promote...I let the product speak thru the buyers... I only mention it for the new guys.
low pegs bring the bike "home" and change jockey to cowboy.
