Minneapolis Yellow Thruxton Spotted!
So I was riding a pedal bike with my daughter in tow when I saw (and heard) a beautiful yellow thruxton go by on the W Calhoun Parkway around Lake Calhoun on Wednesday at 8:00 PM. I'm not just writing to say "hi" - I thought your pipes sounded fantastic, and was interested which you had. They were not too loud, but had a nice full (non-stock) sound to them so I'm guessing maybe they're TORs, but would love to know. Anyway, looking good!

Don't know who owns the yellow thruxton, but I'm putting TORs on my bonnie this weekend. If you want to hook up some time for a bit of a blast then you can check them out.
This assumes that the ice and snow actually cease for more than 2 minutes at a stretch. There's a possibility of more of that s**t this weekend.
Still - never mind eh?

While it wasn't me, I really wish it was. I lived in a big old rented house on the east side of Lake Calhoun many years ago, that was a great spot. The idea of cruising along in the wet nasty weather you've been having sounds really good, now that I'm stuck in the desert southwest.
Bet if you went down to Bob's Java Hut right now, you'd see the bike sitting outside

Sounds like a plan! Not this weekend though, with all the crap we're getting. Bike's in for the cam cover gasket repair on Tuesday, probably won't have it back for a few days. Some time soon though, that would be great.

Right on. Watch the weather over the next week, we'll see what makes sense. Maybe see if anyone else around here wants to hook up too. I've noticed a few locals posting.

Just wondering where you guys from Minneapolis get your bikes serviced at and how the service has been?

I bought my Bonnie at Belle Plaine motorsports, and had the first service done there. No problems - some minor damage to the slot on the oil filler cap annoyed me, but they seemed pretty competent otherwise. They are a friendly dealer, and I was happy with the deal I got - so I would buy from them again. Servicing though I do myself now - it's just something I enjoy doing on a bike.
Delano sports centre in delano (for kawasakis now) seem very competent and friendly when it comes to buying stuff, fitting tyres etc, but again I do my own servicing, so I can't give too much of a report.

Ma's Cycle in Fargo is supposed to be a great Triumph dealer. I'm with the Minnesota boys and usually go to Motoprimo. They're okay, well service wise they're fine, I say okay because I'm still irritated that they moved way south to Lakeville and closed the midtown store. It's really inconvenient to have to travel halfway to Des Moines to get service.
