I don't understand why these tach kits are so expensive.

Here's the same $50.00 tach off E-Bay with the bracket that comes with the tach. I got the mounting idea I believe from Bonnevillebilly.

$199 tach

Yeah, I got the same tach online for about $60-$70. That's nuts. I used the V bracket that came with it as a template to fab one that is a little longer. It's mounted in the same position as Lox.

BTW, I've blown the light in mine. I think it shorted 'cause I didn't use dielectric grease when I replaced my headlamp with a sealed beam unit. I've blew the Hi-beam idiot light, too. Anybody know if I can replace the lamp in this tach and from whom I might get it????

Obviously, there is a market out there that will bear it.

the light is on the bottom of the tach near the mounting screws, in a rubber grommet. Look at the bottom of the tach and you'll see what I mean, it has some wires (or one wire) going into the grommet. Pull it out, there's your bulb.

I myself have the triumph tach. There's some places out there where you can buy it at reasonable prices.

Now...when I lose a light I just get out my trusty Maglite-mini and hold between my teeth till I grind the teeth down and I have to use my lips. Anybody got some free Chapstick out there?
