I've got a Blazer in the drive that hasn't seen the road in about a year. If we go as a family we take the wife's car but my blazer just sits there rusting away. I did ride to work with my lovely for a week this winter but that was more because she had surgery and couldn't drive herself.

It's a great feeling, isn't it!

Happiness is......not even owning a car. Sold mine a couple months after I bought my bonnie. Wifey's got a jeep and the only way to move the bike is to ride it. May eventually get a truck, just so I've got another option for moving it, and it's an excuse to get another toy(cause that's really all a truck would be for me).

My truck only did 1600 mi last year and I lent it out twice to tow a trailer to New Mexico and back and another to northern Arizona. So I drove it around 450 mi. last year, but put over 4K on the bonnie in less than 5 months. Now the real ridding season starts. It's great to live in Sunnyzona.

The other week my durango sat for a week. I got in it to pick up a friend and I felt like I was driving a new car or something. I was very unfamiliar, good feeling though.

I Love riding my Bonnie to work...but I took my Tacoma for the first time last week in about two months...and when I backed her out of the side of the house we're the "RV parking" is...with 3/4 minus as the base...the truck had actually sunk a bit into the gravel...take it from the rain softening up the earth...anyhow...it was a treat to ride into work...dry...warm...and with a nice cup of coffee at my side. However, the whole day I was a bit remorseful that I didn't have the Bonnie to ride home...until the Hail they predicted fell (two days on a row)...for 7 miles and was about 1/2" thick all over the freeway...then my trusty Ole' Tacoma got the "Pat on the Dash"...

Anyhow...I just wish this Cold & Wet weather would go away!! I'm tired of the Bonnie and my truck looking like Construction Equipment!!!

Cheers!!

What to do?

Starting tomorrow, it will be sunny, temps in the low to mid 80s for the next 10 days (at least). Hmmmmm, Le's see, what to do. Mow the lawn? ( I don't go outside without my tiger gun ). Clean up the garage? (still room to park the Bonneville) Fix the broken faucet in the master bath? (still get cold water out of it ) Play a round of cow pasture pool? (yawn ) Watch the NBA (throw the ball to the tall guy and let him stuff it) Clean up the patio (more dirt on it than a moto X course) RIDE????? DECISIONS, DECISIONS, DECISIONS, DECISIONS.

Happiness is.....

Able to ride 3 days this week. That is one more than last week. Yet I'm feeling really good about it considering how challenging the weather has been. Temps have been chilly. Our high yesterday was 38 but I rode anyway. I read a couple of posts from guys in New Jersey or New York that rode routinely in those temps during the winter - in northern Wisconsin we routinely can't at those lower temps because of the ice and snow on the roads. Still I kinda felt I had to prove to myself I could ride with them in those temps road conditions permitting. Its fine for commuting but I wouldn't want to travel cross country at those temps.

I'm going to try to not complain about gas prices too. I would like to see the development of more rail corridors, increased motorcycle and motor scooter usage and bicycle usage. Meaning fewer cars and light trucks on the roads. I guess I want to use the remaining gas for use in my motorcycle. Its cool, you guys can use the gas for that too, its just seems a shame to waste it in a Hummer or a Suburban or that d*mn gas guzzling Ranger I have.
