Open House

Great day at Freehold Triumph yesterday. Free access to a broad range of Triumph product, and free lunch from the lunchwagon to boot! Tiger, Scram, Rocket 3 Tourer, Daytona plus a few Hondas to choose from. Great crowd of fellow travelers, free bike washes, giveaways and general spring fever bonhomie. Well done day by a good dealership.
Took nice 20 minute loops through semi- rural Monmouth County, and the Tiger won me over as the next (and probably not final) addition to the garage. Still takes some squinting to make it look good, and it is not as weather- protected as a bike of it's ilk should be, but the motor, riding position, handling and comfort are all top drawer. IMHO a perfect complement to Bonnie, especially if you are trying to stay within the Triumph family.

The R3....it just cemented everything I don't dig about the 800 pound touring bike thing. But what a stump pullin' monster it is. The bike that surprised most...the Scrambler. Green/ Silver model was in great demand ( and looked much better than I thought it would) and everyone I heard after riding it complemented it.

I strongly recommend anyone who can to spend a day at one of these open house events.

I always miss those

I always seem to miss those open houses at Freehold Triumph for some reason. I love my Bonneville but am dying to ride the Daytona 675 and/or the new Street Triple.

Capo hit me up if you ever want to catch up for a ride. I work in Wall Township and live in Red Bank, and am always looking for a nice strip of asphalt. I saw the pictures of your "Green Machine". Looks awesome.

capoanj,
You must be the guy I met there yesterday. I'm Sean, the guy with the blue Tiger and yellow 'stich who was looking at the Scrambler.

Glad to hear you enjoyed the Tiger. It's a great bike.

Yes

NewBrit- absolutely, I'm off Old Mill Road, so we should make that happen. PMs to follow. Sean, I'm not about to call you by your handle, but yes, that was me. Thanks for your input on the Tiger. So, you gonna buy the scrambler?

It's looking that way. I really enjoyed riding it and it's pretty much exactly what I thought it would be. A new old bike. More developments to come. If anybody wants a Honda CB450, speak up.
