My blue bonnet (pics)
After three years, I have the Bonneville to a point where I'm quite happy with it. See my signature for the major stuff that's on it or done to it.
Last season, I upgraded the front and rear suspension, over the winter I put on the Pirelli Sport Demons, and I just installed Staintunes reverse cones, re-jetted, re-needled and put in a Uni filter.
I apologize for showing a solo seat with a sissy bar. I leave the back rest on permanently (I don't have to look at it) and mount a King & Queen seat when I carry a passenger.
Upcoming mods: LEDs in the idiot lights and bob the rear fender.

that blue color is just great. I've seen 2 of those around town and I really dig it.
Yours is nicely done, congrats.
Question though: Solo seat and sissy bar?

I love the way that most of us here spend years making our bikes just-so.
Most new bike buyers are thoroughly bored & dissilusioned with their ride after 2-3 years, & ready to trade up to the next best thing. Whereas us classic guys are just starting to feel that we've got the bike how we like it.
My Scram's still a work in progress, & I can't see it being "done" for at least another year (if ever)
Love your bike BTW. That's a great shade of blue.

Looks great. You don't see too many of the blue ones around. How are the Pirellis? I'm coming close to getting new tires. I like the Metzlers that are on it, but would like to get some feedback on other brands.

Sweat, if I wasn't in a hurry to take the pictures that day, I would have put the stock seat on it, then it would look correct with the sissy bar. (But I hear that some people like riding pillion on the solo seat. )
Scratch, +1 to what you said. When I bought the bike, all I wanted to do was ride it. Then I discovered TriumphRat and all the good advice that's available, and being somewhat handy mechanically, it started. It's a great hobby. Now I'm constantly thinking about what else I can "improve" on it.
I had a Honda CB450 for over ten years in another life, and I never did anything to it except the usual maintenance things like oil change, chain, tires, adjust timing and valves, and the occasional swap out of a malfunctioning part with a junkyard part. It never went to the dealer for service. It's a tribute to Honda that it ran reliably until I crashed it.

Funkyman, I haven't ridden the Pirellis very far yet, but they are a noticeable improvement. I checked here to find out what others were using, and the Pirelli Sport Demons seem to be the most popular. "Sticky" appeals to me. I don't ride too aggressively, but sticky strikes me as safer and more secure.

Balto, Question: how much wind deflection does the flyscreen provide? I can't imagine that'd be much, but I need something because at around 70 I feel like there's a good chance that my head might be ripped from my body...But I don't want a huge windscreen...just cant bring myself to look like i'm 55 yet....

The fly screen won't deflect anything from your head. It deflects up to my lower rib cage. I got it because I can't be bothered to clean the bugs out from between the instruments, and I kind of like the look, although I like it less now than when I got it.
I don't like riding above 80mph because I feel as if I'm going to fly off the bike, and that's just as well because I have no business riding above 80mph.
