I tried a search but came didnt come up with the answer.
When refueling, it is a enough to break your thumbs onpening the fuel cap. I tried a little oil but no help.
Any help appreciated.

they break in over time, you could use some thick grease on it. Or, some have filed down the threads ever so slightly.
I had mine replaced by the dealer, only to find the replacement was exactly the same. Once I could not get it off at all, glove or no glove (and I'm no weakling). I finally had to take off my belt and wrap it around the cap like a belt wrench to get it off.
Then, one day, all of a sudden, it got easier.

I found that the easiest way to open mine was to take the palm of my hand and lay it flat down on top of the Cap...press down and turn. I could never get enough resistance when I tried to grip the cap...always slipped through my hands...

Bin there
I complained about the same thing when my 06 was new. Some one suggested I not tighten it so tight (before the clicking starts). No problems since!

That is working for me. Put your other hand on top (flat also) if you need more force. My gas cap was almost impossible to remove. This method has been working. Also, as others have said, I think my gas cap is beginning to get easier to remove (1700 miles on the Bonnie). I might not need to do this much longer.

Same story as Sweat - scince the day it got easy I've never had trouble getting it off.

Always with a glove
I find it easier if I take off my gloves after I remove the cap.

Don't get your hopes up. My 06 only has 9,000 miles on it and the gas cap seemed to solve itself after about 1500-2000. No trouble at all. Filled up after a ride the other day and thought I was going to die trying to get that d#@@!!%!&**! thing off. I've tried all previously mentioned remedies except replacement.
I feel better now.
