My first experience with a closed thread - unsettling indeed. I suppose my ranting diatribe about a motorcycle other than a Triumph "touched a nerve". To hold that kind of power to close a thread must be a suffering unto itself.

But anyway, I wanted to tell BonnevilleBilly that that he did not ride this particular type of motorcycle makes everything grand and in the scheme of harmony.

I am in Harmony with all, no mater what brand bike they ride or
how they dress to ride. Although the guy with shorts and flip flops on does touch a nerve with me.
I like Harley's and I ride with mostly Harley's I have a lot of very good friends that ride Harley's.
Your list of your dislikes not only describes Harley riders but, it also describes a lot of Triumph riders like me.
I guess if we are all in Harmony it is all good.

I don't think that it's the Harleys as such that I don't like. There are a lot of motorcycles that I don't like, and many are not Harleys, but taste is personal.

What it is, is the "lifestyle" fake-outlaw, black-leather, eagles and skulls and chains marketing and image, which for me and I think for many of us is a big turn-off, a triumph of style over substance. No one does that like Harley.
