motorcycle lift

I am about to get all of my British customs toys in the mail and would like to take recomendations on what type of stand I should buy to get the job done....I will be putting on the basic preformance package....I have never owned a motorcycle stand so have no idea what type to get....Whatever type you do suggest need to be affordable. I did see a type on a brit iron rebels website that looks easy enough, the type that you pull down on the long handle and the bike sits on the front wheel and the stand?

you can get one at Sears, Pep Boys, Harbor Freight, etc. They're all about $70 and all are the same basic design. Sears also sells an aluminum one (mugh lighter) for about 2-3 times the $$$.

Aluminum Lift

A good friend has the iron Sears lift. I paid double for the aluminum Sears lift. Now my friend is going to buy an aluminum one. It is double the money, half the weight, smaller (read: maneuvers better and fits into tighter spaces) and is better designed.

All MHO

+1 on the aluminum lift. Get it if you can afford it, if money is tight, get the cheaper one.

All the ones Sweat mentioned are good. IMO the aluminum one is not worth the extra money.
They are all on wheels and they all work great.

Here is the Sears lift in action

And for the same price of the center stand you could get one of these.

Sears just had the lightweight lift on sale, at $139.

I have the large lift from Harbor Freight. It is normall about $70, but is sometimes on sale for $59 or so. It works great. I don't see why heavy is considered a problem. Don't really need to pick it up.
