Go bored waiting while savng up for big ticket aftermarket modifications. Decided to pinstripe the front fender (thanks for the idea Texacat). Also sent the speedo case and gravel screen to the ol' powdercoaters. Total cost: around $50.00. I like the changes. Hope you do too.

Like that speedo. I was thinking of powdercoating the skidplate, too.

I have a spare front fender from an accident and was considering having it chromed if it's not ridiculously expensive. I have the Union Jack tank cover and absolutely love it. Another incredibly cheap and exceedingly cool Scrambler mod is filling in the Triumph logo on the seat with a gold leaf paint pen. Do a search for pics and you'll be amazed how easy it is and how much better it looks for under 5 bucks.

Another variation on the pinstripe. Also, you can paint the Triumph letering on the seat too. Im thinking of gettinf the skidplate and painting it some type of hear resistant black to match the engine.

rockin' the red stripe

I really dig the pinstripe. Freakin' excellent! I've been wanting to do some "cheap" mods, as funds are tight (hey, I just bought the bike). What sort of paint did you use and is there a color number or anything?

I'm a big fan of that red pin-stripe, & I like the double variation too.
I'm wondering if it'd work as well with the Caspian Blue (or any of other combo's).
If anyone's good at photoshop, I'd love to see some mock-ups.

This was a five minute Photoshop job. I can do better but I don't want to spend my sunday afternoon behind the computer; a man wants to ride his Scrambler on any sunday

Rmak, can you post a close up of the speedo case? I love it!

1/4" pinstriping is about $5-6 at most auto parts stores. makes quite a difference on our bikes.

For Dryheat, and anyone else. It took me a while to find wide red pinstripe tape. I eventually had to go to a shop that specializes in truck graphics. They cut it to size for me. I just got the red-est red I could get. It's not a perfect match, but very very close. It might be slightly darker, but it would take an expert to tell. I got the gold pin stripe at Autozone.

If you or anyone else is interested, I've got enough red left to do another fender. I would be happy to give it to someone.
