Keeping it in the family

My 16 year old daughter and I went out for our first ride together
out on the road today.
She just got her permit last week. She started riding last year in parking lots.
I put her through some pretty tuff stuff.
By the end of last fall she was handling the bike very well.
I will still have her take the rider course before she gets her license.
She had been riding with me on my bike since she was in dippers.
It is a little scary because you can’t help from worrying about her.
It is some thing she wanted to do I never encouraged her, she decided
she wanted to ride on her own.
And she knows how much I love riding my bike, so there is no way
I could tell her I didn’t won’t her to ride.
All I can do is teach her every thing I know from the 34 years I have
been riding and, send her through the rider course.
But anyway, we had fun she was a little nervous but, probably not as
nervous as I was.

This is the Suzuki GS 250 I picked up for her last year.
She will have to ride for a couple of years before I let her graduate to a Triumph.

The 250 looks about right. Hope your girl loves riding as much as you. Nice to family members along for the ride.

I think it is the perfect bike to learn on it is very forgiving.
It will go from 0 to 60 reasonably quick.
I think with a good wind at your back it will do 80 mph.
I know it wont be long before she wants a bigger bike.
I'm seeing a pretty funny picture in my mind thinking about your big butt
on one of those things

Bill

I rode one of those during my MSF class as well. It was a bit small for me. I kept bumping my knees on the handlebars during low speed maneuvers.

Bonnevillebilly that looks like a really good bike to learn on. My daughter is looking to upgrade from a small 125cc to a 250cc machine and this looks as though it might suit her. Have you any idea of the seat hieght as my daughter is a bit vertically challenged?

Alot of guys here in Oklahoma get those for thier kids. Riding on old route 66 you see a lot of father daughter/son trips. Most of the time it seems that those are the ones to learn on.
