Favourite Mods

I finally take possession on my Bonnie Black this weekend, this purchase has been made extremely enjoyable due to the number of mods available for this bike, in fact it’s quite addictive so it got me thinking what have been your favourite mods.

There are accessories and then there are modifications. I haven't done any mods to my bike (unless you call a little seat paint a mod), but my favorite accessory so far is the Monza Fuel Cap...

favorite mods?

the ones that make the bike go faster!

my mikuni carb kit made the biggest difference in power, even more than the 904 kit did.

someone sugested this to me last night...he said "Paul, you need a hammer on this thing (refering to my bike)!" "A hammer?" I said. "Yep...mount a hammer right behind the side cover (left side)...on the frame...there you go.

After taking a long look at the left side...i thought about it...and yeah, i need something for those JO's who cut me off. What better then a hammer at arm's reach?

My favorite mods.

Barend mirrors. Who knew you could see so much?

Louder pipes. I was content to punch thru the rear baffles on mine with a long drift ($2.95, what a bargan!). Now I'm running Triumph "off roads" due to an accident.I don't 'think' they bother the neighbors too much. but I was perfectly content with the bafflectomy.

heavier fork oil cuz I'm a big boy.

and knurled knobs for the side cases and seat.

My advice is don't go into mod overdrive until you've had a few rounds with the stock thing, unless you get $1000 in accesories. then.....

Performance exhaust combined with the airbox removal. Huge increase in the go fast fun factor, sounds awesome too. This is the most beneficial mod in terms of really making the bike instantly more fun. Other could argue the 904 conversion but this mod is the first step to that and does not require too much ability, just faith that you can do it.

I base my favorite mods off the grin factor and the length of time it remains.

First, some might argue not a mod, but in my minds eye it did. I added my arse, gas and road grim. The bike looked great in the dealership, but looks even better with me putting miles on it.

Second, the performance pipes and airbox removal. This amplified the fun factor.

Third, Nappy M's - stock bars and mirrors did nothing for me. Now it looks and feels correct.

Cheers!
