Heck Yes!
I just finished the MSF course and received my endorsment yesterday. Today was my first ride on my first street bike. It's an '06 Scrambler. Love it!!! I rode into work today (about 40 miles). I don't need to tell 'yall how great the ride is... but I do need to some people who get it. No one here at work rides so I may as well be explaining how to tune a guitar. The ride was great. My "office" is in an art gallery on old Route 66. It seemed so right to ride this bike for the first real ride down old 66, America's greatest backroad. I am still buzzing. Thanks for listening.

Good for you! There's a memory we never forget, i.e. that first ride imediately after licensure. From now on, commuting to and from work will be fun. Congratulations.

Congrats!
We're your kinda people.
After 2 years, I still spend a lot of time, just sitting in the garage, admiring Ms. Black and her beautiful curves.
It is appropriate that you use a classic bike on a classic road.
Remember, other riders will see and appreciate you and your sweet ride.
Non-riders will look right through you.
Realize you're invisible and ride accordingly.
Good Luck!

Welcome
Congrats on doing the right thing and getting a MSF course and endorsment....a perfect way to get started. Now comes the "experience" end of things....
Be careful!
Think careful!
Drive like the cagers are out to flatten you, mind your following distances and most of all...enjoy the rides.....
Somehow the air is fresher on a bike, things look sparkly and new, your soul gets a dose of warm and fuzzies and your outlook on life improves...
See, all that from a bike ride....

The best part is that the newbie buzz lasts a real long time. I've been riding for 35 years, & I still get it! Not everytime I throw a leg over, but often enough to appreciate it.

let's see a Route 66 Scrambler pic!
I took a weeklong trip on 66 through AZ about a year and a half ago, it was amazing.

Hey Dryheat!
Love that new feeling - and like someone else said it can stick with you for a long time.
It's great that you took a riding course but still constantly review your riding to see if you can improve, not speed but by better positioning of yourself on the road. Dominate your lane and make sure those around you know that you are there!
best tip IMO is to review you're attitude, don't ride while angry.
Enjoy yourself!

I can't ride when I'm angry.
I might start out that way, but Im usually grinning by the first bend, & it just gets better from there.
Enjoying myself is unavoidable.
