quick disconnect windscreens

Hey guys. I searched for a thread like this one, but didn't see one. I just bought a new Speedy. A few buddies are riding out (to CA) for a four day cruise through the desert, Vegas, Coast Hwy, you get the idea. I hate the look of windshields but my buddy with the Road King says I will hate my life if I do the ride sans windshield. He says that "they" make good "pop-on/off" windshilds just for road trips, then take it off when I get home. I've looked on the net, but so far nothing that lists Speedy. Any ideas? Thanks. Roger

I have a National Cycle deflector. It comes off in about 1 minute with two knobs that screw into the mounts that remain on the handlebars.

the NC deflector is indeed the one.

you don't want too big of a screen because of the wind resistance...likewise, the small fly screens are useless. the Deflector is the perfect size for putting a sweet spot at your face without bulk, it adds stability to the wobble like a steering stabilizer, and is on and off in seconds with the quick release set up. it's also big enough to make a world of difference at highway speeds for hours on end.

every time I take mine off for a change, it ends up back on within days.
yes yes yes.

+1 on that! Works nice and goes on and off quick. I don't mind the wind on the Bonnie, but this is nice for longer rides or cold weather in keeping the blast of my chest.

I too rode 3k miles in 1 week with only a flyscreen, and yes my life was difficult, especially in the rain.

So I bought a NC Deflector and I'm leaving on another tour in 6 weeks or so. I wouldn't ride any long time without a windshield (boy am I getting old),but there can be 1 slight problem with the NC deflector or any other w/s.
They can cause a wobble, but the cure is simple and cheap. Make sure your fork clamp bolts are tighten to Triumph Torque specs, both the lower and upper bolts. Problem cured and w/s is the cats meow.
