Tank bag for Scrambler question

Can you fill the tank with the bag on?

Most bags will cover the gas cap and filler tube, so you have to remove the bag. I use a magnetic tank bag, so I just lift it up, put it on the seat, fill the bike and then replace it. No problem. I understand that some bags are made with a base that covers the tank and has a hole in it to allow filling. The bag is zipped onto the base, and you unzip it and lift it up out of the way. One thing I don't know is whether the bases are made with a large enough hole, or an off-set hole to accomodate the position of the filler tube on the Modern Classics.

Thanks John- I understand what you are saying, and have had a magnetic tank bag before. I'm just curious before I buy a bag sight unseen if the Triumph bag has the filler hole, or unzips like you say, or if you have to remove the thing completely to fill the tank. The only pictures I've seen of the tank bag don't show the filler side, and all you can see are 2 straps on the bottom of the bag-not really enough to let you know how it attaches.

OK, couldn't tell from your first post what type of tank bag you wanted. I've never used or even seen the Triumph tank bag for the Classics, but I think there is somebody on this board who has one. Perhaps you should re-post specifying that your question is about the Triumph tank bag in the subject. That way you might get someone who knows the bag in question who can answer you better than me, Good luck. I would think that they have to have provided something short of completely removing everything for refilling because I believe that bag has several straps to attach it to the bike.
